The Man Behind the Mission
Coach Roy Pittman has dedicated his life to one mission: helping young people discover the champion within themselves. As the founder of Peninsula Wrestling Club, Roy has spent over five decades building one of the most respected wrestling programs in the Pacific Northwest.
His approach has never been just about winning matches. Coach Pittman believes wrestling is a vehicle — one that teaches young men and women how to handle pressure, respect their competitors, and develop the mental toughness required not just in sport, but in every dimension of life.
Under his leadership, Peninsula Wrestling Club earned Gold Medal Club status from USA Wrestling, the highest club designation in the nation. Roy himself achieved Gold-level coaching certification — a distinction held by fewer than 20 coaches in the entire country.
Now, Coach Pittman is expanding his vision. With the launch of a new Peninsula Wrestling franchise in Hood River, Oregon, Roy is bringing his championship culture to the Columbia River Gorge.
"I believe every kid has something great inside them. Wrestling just helps bring it out." — Coach Roy Pittman
